It’s Book Release Day.
It’s book release day for Secret Places. I started writing this book at a very difficult time in my life. I thank God for seeing this day. I thank Him for blessing the work of my hands. For bringing all the people who have been a part of this journey. All glory and honour to Him who reigns forever. It is the day that the Lord has made. And, it is a fabulous one 🙂

Dreaming Again: Knit Together (WIP)
Hello 🙂
As we, my awesome publisher Brown Girls Faith and I, continue to work on getting SECRET PLACES to you this fall, I wanted to let you know about my next novel. It has a working title of “KNIT TOGETHER” and it’s about what happens when a good deed surrogacy goes wrong.

The inspiring scripture: Psalm 139:13-16 New International Version (NIV)
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Introducing three of the characters; Mari (Marigold) and Ixxie (Ixora). These sisters looooove each other. And last and in no way the least, their paternal grandmother, Grandma Mo. The two snippets below will give you a glimpse into their world.
***
Mari looked her straight in the eye as she scratched her nose.
“Pucker up, baby,” Mari said as she mimicked Grandma Mo’s gritty voice. “This itch tells me I’m about to kiss a fool.”
As her sister closed her eyes and moved her pouted lips closer, Ixxie bunched up her fingers and smacked her across the mouth. “Who’s the fool now?”
Mari’s eyes flew open. She screamed. “Grandma!”
Ixxie was quick to shout her defense. “She started it!”
They both froze at the heavy sound of Grandma’s footsteps as she made her way down the stairs. “Girls, I better not see any blood on my floor. Only the good Lord knows why we bothered to give you such pretty names. With the way you both carry on, we should have just named you Thorn and Nettle.”

Grandma Mo reached out and took Micah from her. “Ixxie, enough with the crying. You can either focus on the extra chromosome he has or on the extra joy shinning from the child’s eyes. Remember, what you focus on magnifies.”
Ixxie took a deep breath. She had not anticipated turning into an emotional wreck when she’d fought so hard to keep Micah. “How will I take care of him?”
“You didn’t make it this far on your own strength.” Grandma Mo’s gnarled hands trembled as they held Micah to her chest. “I know the Lord who gave him to us has a plan for his life, for your life. Who indeed is like Yahweh? His blessings add no sorrow.”

I’ll keep you posted on both projects. Have a blessed day!
